It has been over a decade since The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim was released, and players are still managing to create their own unique stories within the game’s expansive and frozen landscapes. One adventurous fan had the fortune of finding a cat in Skyrim VR, and the two took a trip to the game’s tallest mountain.

In the years following the launch of Skyrim, Bethesda’s seminal RPG has seen no shortage of ports and re-releases. With the rise of virtual reality headsets in recent years, Bethesda would eventually create Skyrim VR, further immersing players in the fantasy tundra they have come to enjoy. One such story comes from Reddit user Kooky-Ad-2960 who stumbled upon a cat in the middle of a road while exploring Skyrim in virtual reality. The adventurer takes it upon themselves to pick up this feline friend, and the two set off on a journey to the top of a mountain. Amusingly enough, Kooky-Ad-2960 carried the cat the whole time. After a short montage through various locations in Skyrim, the pair find themselves at the bottom of the Seven Thousand Steps leading to the peak of The Throat of the World. The duo successfully defeats the mountain’s most menacing frost troll, then proceed to find a cliff at the mountain top, enjoy a drink together, and take in the sights of Skyrim.

This wholesome clip has been widely well-received by the Skyrim community, with many in the comments section saying they absolutely love it. However, some users feel like there was a missed opportunity for the original uploader to hold the cat up at the cliff’s edge, much like Simba in The Lion King. Regardless, Skyrim‘s intricately designed world and interaction systems continue to amuse gamers even a decade after its release.

There is no telling what other exciting elements of Skyrim players will unearth, experience, and share to the community’s delight. While the game could be considered dated by some standards, there are constantly new details being discovered about Skyrim, and fans routinely tell interesting stories about their adventures in the game, doing things other players have never done before. In its almost eleven-year run, Skyrim has certainly proven that it is a game with a lot of staying power.
