Pedigree cats ate their breeder after she collapsed at home

A woman was eaten by her 20 pedigree cats after she collapsed at home before police came across the horror.

The cat breeder had been dead for two weeks at least before she was finally found, half eaten by her beloved giant Maine coon cats.

Police found her partially eaten body surrounded by the cats, in the Bataysk, Russia.

Her gruesome end was only discovered after an employee contacted the police after she was unable to get in touch with her.

Maine Coon cats are generally known for their passive natures and are referred to as “gentle giants”.

But, when faced with no food or water for weeks, this group of moggies went to extreme lengths to survive.

Some of the healthier cats were then sold on to new owners for around £30.

It is not known if the new owners were informed of their new pet’s pinchant for human flesh.

According to a rescue group believed to be involved in their rescue, a number of the cats were found in an unhealthy state and they were trying to fundraise to look after them.

An animal rescue expert who cared for some of the surviving cats said: “The cats were left alone on their own for two weeks, there was no food, so what else to eat?

“It’s understandable right? They ate what there was.”

This woman is far from the first to meet such a grisly end and become food for her own pets.

Only last year Clara Ines Tobon, in Madrid, was found dead by police and her cats had reportedly eaten the upper half of her body.

Neighbors raised the alarm because of the smell and number of flies.

Last year, a pensioner believed to have died from coronavirus was also partially eaten by her cats.

Police found the corpse after neighbors raised the alarm because of the strong smell coming from a flat in Madrid, Spain.

Reports say the upper part of the woman’s body had been gnawed away by seven of her pets – five of which were also found dead.

The dead woman has been named as Clara Ines Tobon, 79, from Colombia.

One police officer is said to have described the scene, in the neighborhood of Fuencarral, as his worst experience on the job.

Firefighters forced entry to the apartment on Monday and found the body in a room during a search.
